Starting May 12, you will be asked to sign for your prescription medicine when you pick it up at the pharmacy. This is not new. You needed to sign for your medicine before the pandemic. This requirement was paused during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Your pharmacist must ask you if you have any questions or concerns about your medicine. By signing your name, you are saying that you were asked this question.
Be sure to show your Highmark Health Options ID card when you pick up your prescription. You will be asked to show proof of identification if you are picking up certain kinds of drugs, such as controlled substances or narcotics.

Your caregiver will use this device to start and end every visit, whether at home or in the community. You may be asked to confirm if the caregiver was in your home at the end of the visit. EVV is free to both you and your provider. Using EVV will not change anything for you or the services you receive.

What is monkeypox? Monkeypox is usually a mild virus that causes a fever and bumpy rash. The rash tends to appear on the face before the body. Other symptoms include intense headache, chills, muscle aches, back pain, low energy, and swollen lymph nodes. If you have symptoms, contact your health care provider right away.
What if I have symptoms or have been diagnosed?
How does monkeypox spread? Monkeypox can spread between people by breathing in germs during long periods of close contact, by touching the infectious sores or bodily fluids of the sick person, or by touching objects like contaminated bedding or clothing.
How is monkeypox prevented and treated? Vaccines are given in a two-dose series, 28 days apart. The vaccine is not considered effective until two weeks after the second dose. People who have monkeypox can use antiviral medicine to help make symptoms less severe and stop the spread.
Who is at risk for monkeypox? People who have certain sexual practices are more likely to be exposed to monkeypox:
Who should be vaccinated? It is not necessary for everyone to get the monkeypox vaccination. People with HIV and those in the above risk groups will be eligible for the vaccination starting the week of Aug. 22. Call the DPH hotline at 1-866-408-1899 for more information. Another option is to register in advance for a monkeypox vaccination event. The event will be held Aug. 25 from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. at the Community Services Building located at 100 W. 10th Street in Wilmington. Only 200 time slots are available, so registration is required. Walk-ins will not be accepted. To register, call AIDS Delaware at 1-302-652-6776.
What else should I know? Monkeypox is much less contagious than COVID-19. Social distancing, handwashing, and sanitizing will help control its spread.

A national shortage of baby formula has many parents worried they won’t be able to feed their babies. More than 40% of top-selling formula brands are reportedly out of stock at stores around the country. The shortage is caused by pandemic supply issues and the recalls and shutdown of an Abbott Laboratories production plant in February. Parents of babies who rely on formula are anxious about the shortage. We urge families to contact their pediatricians with any questions or concerns.
